Nude by Nature Liquid Foundation Review (Updated Condensed Revised R...
This is a revised review video of my previous video on the Nude by Nature Liquid Foundation. The original review was sloppy and I even made a mistake and thought it was a broken wand applicator! Whoops. To make up for that, I thought I'd make a totally new video on the Nude by Nature Sheer Liquid Foundation.
Below is the full review and thanks FitAngie for providing the foundation!
Note: Devilishly Hungry and La Delicia de Linda are the same channel. You may find this video under either of those channel names.
Thanks for watching!
Nude by Nature Liquid Foundation in the shade Light/Medium. No filters, completely honest review. I was not paid or sponsored for this review, however this was given to me for free from a subbie.
Nude by Nature is an Australian Organic beauty brand. Their products consist of mostly mineral derived makeup with some natural ingredients that showcases some of Australia's natural botanical extracts. Their liquid foundation also is paraben free, talc free, and fragrance free! Major pluses for sensitive skin and those sensitive to most synthetic preservatives.
Below is their complete ingredients list:
AQUA, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, CAPRYLIC/ CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, GLYCERIN, SODIUM LEVULINATE, CETEARETH-20, CAPRYLOYL GLCERIN/SEBACIC ACID, DIHEPTYL SUCCINATE, TOCOPHEROL, GLYCINE SOJA OIL, ASCORBYL TETRAISOPALMITATE, SODIUM HYALURONATE, SYZYGIUM LEUHMANII (LILLY PILLY) FRUIT EXTRACT, SANTALUM ACUMINATUM (QUANDONG) FRUIT EXTRACT, TERMINALIA FERDINANDIANA (KAKADU PLUM) FRUIT EXTRACT, CAMELLIA SINENSIS (GREEN TEA) LEAF EXTRACT, GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE, SODIUM ANISATE, LACTIC ACID, SODIUM BENZONATE, POTASSIUM SORBATE, CITRIC ACID, MAY CONTAIN +/- [CI 787891, CI 77499, CI77492, CI 77491].
I like that there is green tea in the ingredients as many studies show green tea as a anti-inflammatory ingredient. Great for soothing sensitive red skin. Though the lactic acid (AHA) could irritate your skin as it is a natural exfoliant. But judging by the order of ingredients, there is probably very little of the AHA to cause any irritation.
On first look, the texture looks like a chocolate milkshake.. maybe even a bit muddy but don't let that steer you away. Given the right technique the foundation becomes one with your skin. In fact, it almost has a tint like coverage, rather than being a foundation that sits across the skin. As such, the finish is slightly dewey and Jojoba oil gives it a moisturizing effect.
Now the key term here is "with the right application technique". If you use a sponge, you will get no coverage and splotchy spots. The liquid foundation is a middle ground between water base and a oil base foundation. When applied with finger tips, it is easier to blend the product into the skin. Same goes with a brush to some degree. Be warned though it can still apply spotty and unevenly if you don't know what you are doing.
There is very little cons other than the unevenness and the sheer coverage. Of course there is no SPF coverage but that may not be a concern for everyone. Especially those who want something that wont block the skin's ability to produce vitamin d from the sun. However, for me, I do prefer SPF because I burn easily and also because SPF helps block UV light that may accelerate aging.
Just like most organic/natural beauty brands, the price point is a bit high for the average consumer. But remember you get what you pay for. Most drugstore products contain lots of filler ingredients to lower the cost. To be fair, I usually use drugstore products because many are great in quality despite filler ingredients and also because I honestly don't have $40 bucks to spend on a foundation. Nonetheless if money is not a concern, this is a great brand for those concerned about "questionable" chemical accumulation in their personal care products.
Overall I would give this a 4/5 stars... that is if I had the right shade match. This is not Angie's fault or the brand but I really feel that the product would look more seamless if the foundation was closer to my skin tone and a bit less orange. Because of the orange undertone, I am hesitant to give it the full 4 stars so I am going to go with 3/5.
