Get To Know Me aka Autobiography Post or Facts About Me

During the early days of youtube, or at least around 2007/2006, there was this tag game called "Facts about me". Youtubers would film themselves talking about 5 or more things about themselves then tag by stating another youtuber, and that tagged youtuber then had to do their own facts about me video.

A looong time ago I was tagged, during my early youtube days in 2007 before my hiatus. That video is probably lost and I'm not sure I'll do another one but I thought writing it down in a blog post would be easier. That way I can add more to my "autobiography" post as time goes on.

I always wanted to have a legacy of some sort. I thought a lot about what would happen after I die? Will I be remembered or forgotten? Am I living a meaningful life? I'm not even a very big youtuber but I wanted to ensure that I wrote a part of my history down for the future, in case someone stumbles upon it.
Don't remember exact date.. might be 2014. At a Thai restaurant with thai iced tea on a very hot 90 degree weather day in SF

So here we go with a Facts About Me Post aka My Mini Autobiography. Of course there is so much in my life I can't put on paper but this is some stuff I'm willing to share. Thanks everyone for your continued support! ๐Ÿ˜

Ironically I have a memory of a memory of this photo. I was pretending the tennis ball was the passenger. SF Muni tends to get pretty crowded so I remember the driver would always tell everyone to move to the back of the bus. Hence why the ball is in the back. The white dot in my eye I think was eye poop... I think that's common with most kids. You cry and the tears dry up. I remember waking up with crusty eyes... >_<

Christmas at my aunt's house. She always ensured the family got together to hang out and exchange gifts. Cropped out my sister's face for anonymity reasons

Really wished I had more photos. We didnt take many photos as I kid and I apparently often wore the same outfits. I really liked those red shoes. I tried to wear them up until I was 4 years old. I remember at age 6, I had a nightmare about losing them on the train tracks
Facts About Me:
1) I am a Leo, born August 1st.
2) I went to Jefferson Preschool, Jefferson Elementary School, Herbert Hoover Middle School, and Graduated from Gateway Charter High School (Class of 2007).
3) I graduated Cum Laude from San Francisco State University in 2012 with a major in Humanities (focus on Japanese Studies)
4) The teachers that had the biggest impact on my education in High School was Mr. Butcher (A.P. U.S. History), Ms. Gipson (Humanities and Honors English) and Mr. Parish (Environmental Science).
5) The professor that made me look at politics differently and whom I enjoyed learning from in college at SFSU was Sean Connelly.
6) I have a terrible memory and often talk my thought process aloud. My boyfriend often said I used others as a sounding board.
7) I had chronic insomnia since age 11. My record was no sleep for 1 week and a half. Then I crashed for three hours. Not much sleep but it was a life saver to sleep three hours. I continue to have severe chronic insomnia which has impacted my memory, communication and health. I don't remember the exact statistics but my sleep study showed 0% delta sleep and about 5% REM... I dont remember the exact percentage (so that's just a ballpark estimate) but it ended up being something like 15  minutes or so of REM sleep. REM is rapid eye movement, aka dreaming stage and is necessary for memory consolidation. Delta sleep is the deepest sleep that is necessary for body repair.
8) Although Chronic insomnia was a burden, it also made me obsess about education. I guess the flip side is that I was so desperate to learn and retain my memory capabilities that I started to have what my boyfriend calls "intellectual curiosity". I'm not that smart but I love learning! Especially history and culture because they can teach you about the human condition.
9) The chronic insomnia has given me other health problems such as chronic fatigue, chronic migraines, chronic nerve pain, upper airway resistance, and hormonal issues. I rather not talk about it but I felt it was necessary to put out as a disclaimer. As sometimes I do get asked about why I look sick a lot or why I talk with lots of ums. I know I don't need to explain myself but I feel better putting that out and just ending that conversation there.
10) Was the cover model for a novel called Yung Sook by Richard Karlen
11) Was featured in Purple Magazine, Fusion Magazine now called Splinter online, and Threadbanger's Dragon Breath's video.
12) My teacher Ms Cunningham in middle school used to volunteer and the SPCA. This got me into cats. They are lovely magical mystical pets.
13) I was born with heterochromia (left eye is hazel, right eye is brown)
Hard to tell in photos but you can watch my contact lens videos to see the two eye colors. Not an accident. Born this way :)

14) When I was younger I was bullied a lot. People called me names like "wo-man" and "pug face" because I was very hairy, have a very round face, pug looking nose and stern eyes.
15) My current obsession is checking out artwork on Art Station. I dont think I can post images here due to copyright but I can link some of my favorite Artstation pages:
https://www.artstation.com/aikoo
https://www.artstation.com/karlsimon
https://www.artstation.com/charlesartstation
https://www.artstation.com/guangyi
https://www.artstation.com/bluezima
16) I practiced Choy Li Fut Kung for three years but never went above the third fringe/sash color.
17) I can finger twirl a pen/pencil on my right hand
18) Used to do tarot readings as a side job for events and people (Disclaimer: for entertainment purposes only).
19) Currently work as a food vlogger.
20) Dream job was to be a medical researcher but my memory got in the way of my education.
21) Can't live without meditation and mindfullness
22) Used to be a hard core gamer. Some of my favorite games were Tenchu, Resident Evil 1, 2, 4 and Code Veronica, Metal Gear Solid series, Final Fantasy VII, Parasite Eve, Devil May Cry series, etc.
23) Once had a huge crush on a guy only because he looked exactly like Dante from Devil May Cry.. and then it turned out there were two of them! Fan girls.... know what i'm talking about XD
24) Some of my favorite films were Unbreakable, Leon: The Professional, Fifth Element, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, The Imitation Game, Ex Machina.. i'm sure there are others but cant remember on top of my head. I tend to go for slice of life or movies with adventure, action, comedy and romance all in one film.
25) One of my favorite quotes:
"I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars."
Og Mandino

26) As a kid, I watched Yan Can Cook, America's Test Kitchen and Julia Childs, which led to my interest in cooking. Then Cooking with Dog, Maangchi and Aeri's Kitchen became my most favorite cooking channels during my early days on youtube.
27) Past jobs and roles I had were cook at a rehab center, assistant to real estate agent, sales associate at UPS Store, acupuncture clinical assistant, assistant to a civil litigation law firm, online customer service representative for a start up, and currently a food vlogger
28) Can make convincing cat meows.. some people call me the cat whisperer!
29) During my early youtube days (videos all pulled down) I was into making kawaii bento boxes.
My Minion Bento Box! Made this I think in 2013?

Wearing brown contacts (watch video below for contact lens review) and holding a "Lambie" TY toy. My boyfriend calls me Lambie ;)

๐ŸœWhat is ASMR and Why am I Whispering?๐Ÿœ

ASMR Stands for "autonomous sensory meridian response".

ASMR is a euphoric and tranquil sensation triggered by auditory or visual

stimuli. The sensation is characterized by a tingling, pleasurable (excited) and calming sensation.

Often beginning on the scalp and moving down along the nerves of the neck

and upper back.

Certain sounds and visuals can trigger this sensation, producing endorphins that

help people feel relaxed, happy and at peace. Common triggers can be tapping,

whispering and eating sounds.

Many people watch/listen to ASMR to help them sleep or destress.

Everyone has their own unique ASMR Triggers. Hopefully you will find one that gives you all those good ASMR sensations.

ASMR Cooking | How to Make Bao (Chinese Steamed Buns) Recipe | No Music

(I changed my channel name from Devilishly Hungry, back to La Delicia De Linda)

It's foodie friday! In this ASMR cooking video, we are making Chinese Steamed Buns. This is a basic steamed buns recipe. You can customize it to put any fillings you want but Cha siu (bbq pork) is the standard.

This recipe was from Woks of Life so I take no credit for the recipe. I did do some slight modifications. Not much but basically I replaced regular sugar with coconut sugar to make it slightly healthier.

Enjoy!

http://thewoksoflife.com/2015/05/steamed-bbq-pork-buns-char-siu-bao/

How to Make Bao (Chinese Steamed Buns)

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon active dry yeast

¾ cup warm water

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup cornstarch

5 tablespoons sugar

¼ cup canola or vegetable oil

2½ teaspoons baking powder

1) Warm up water to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Don't go over 110 or you'll kill the yeast later and don't go under 100 degrees F.

2) Dissolve the yeast in the warm water.

3) Sift together the corn starch and flour. Then add in sugar and oil.

4) Knead the dough by hand or manufacturers' suggestion if using dough hook attached to mixer.

5) Roll into a round and put into a bowl covered by a damp cloth. You will be proofing or setting it aside in a warm place for 2 hours (dough doubles in size)

6) After the dough has rested/proof, mix in baking powder and knead into the dough. If dough is too dry you can add about 1 teaspoon of water.

7) After kneading, rest for another 15 minutes.

8) Punch dough down until it deflates and roll into a log.

9) Divide the dough about 10 or so equal pieces.

10) Flatten dough into a disk and put in filling. Not too much or you can't seal or pleat the dough.

11)  Seal the dough and make the remainder. Steam the buns in a bamboo steamer, lined with parchment paper. About 12-15 minutes over medium high heat after boiling.

12) Be careful the steam is hot!

Serve and enjoy!

Nude by Nature Liquid Foundation Review (Updated Condensed Revised R...

This is a revised review video of my previous video on the Nude by Nature Liquid Foundation. The original review was sloppy and I even made a mistake and thought it was a broken wand applicator! Whoops. To make up for that, I thought I'd make a totally new video on the Nude by Nature Sheer Liquid Foundation.

Below is the full review and thanks FitAngie for providing the foundation!

Note: Devilishly Hungry and La Delicia de Linda are the same channel. You may find this video under either of those channel names.

Thanks for watching!

___________________

Nude by Nature Liquid Foundation in the shade Light/Medium. No filters, completely honest review. I was not paid or sponsored for this review, however this was given to me for free from a subbie.

๐Ÿ”น Review:๐Ÿ”น

Nude by Nature is an Australian Organic beauty brand. Their products consist of mostly mineral derived makeup with some natural ingredients that showcases some of Australia's natural botanical extracts. Their liquid foundation also is paraben free, talc free, and fragrance free! Major pluses for sensitive skin and those sensitive to most synthetic preservatives.

Below is their complete ingredients list:

AQUA, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, CAPRYLIC/ CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, GLYCERIN, SODIUM LEVULINATE, CETEARETH-20, CAPRYLOYL GLCERIN/SEBACIC ACID, DIHEPTYL SUCCINATE, TOCOPHEROL, GLYCINE SOJA OIL, ASCORBYL TETRAISOPALMITATE, SODIUM HYALURONATE, SYZYGIUM LEUHMANII (LILLY PILLY) FRUIT EXTRACT, SANTALUM ACUMINATUM (QUANDONG) FRUIT EXTRACT, TERMINALIA FERDINANDIANA (KAKADU PLUM) FRUIT EXTRACT, CAMELLIA SINENSIS (GREEN TEA) LEAF EXTRACT, GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE, SODIUM ANISATE, LACTIC ACID, SODIUM BENZONATE, POTASSIUM SORBATE, CITRIC ACID, MAY CONTAIN +/- [CI 787891, CI 77499, CI77492, CI 77491].

I like that there is green tea in the ingredients as many studies show green tea as a anti-inflammatory ingredient. Great for soothing sensitive red skin. Though the lactic acid (AHA) could irritate your skin as it is a natural exfoliant. But judging by the order of ingredients, there is probably very little of the AHA to cause any irritation.

On first look, the texture looks like a chocolate milkshake.. maybe even a bit muddy but don't let that steer you away. Given the right technique the foundation becomes one with your skin. In fact, it almost has a tint like coverage, rather than being a foundation that sits across the skin. As such, the finish is slightly dewey and Jojoba oil gives it a moisturizing effect.

Now the key term here is "with the right application technique". If you use a sponge, you will get no coverage and splotchy spots. The liquid foundation is a middle ground between water base and a oil base foundation. When applied with finger tips, it is easier to blend the product into the skin. Same goes with a brush to some degree. Be warned though it can still apply spotty and unevenly if you don't know what you are doing.

There is very little cons other than the unevenness and the sheer coverage. Of course there is no SPF coverage but that may not be a concern for everyone. Especially those who want something that wont block the skin's ability to produce vitamin d from the sun. However, for me, I do prefer SPF because I burn easily and also because SPF helps block UV light that may accelerate aging.

Just like most organic/natural beauty brands, the price point is a bit high for the average consumer. But remember you get what you pay for. Most drugstore products contain lots of filler ingredients to lower the cost. To be fair, I usually use drugstore products because many are great in quality despite filler ingredients and also because I honestly don't have $40 bucks to spend on a foundation. Nonetheless if money is not a concern, this is a great brand for those concerned about "questionable" chemical accumulation in their personal care products.

Overall I would give this a 4/5 stars... that is if I had the right shade match. This is not Angie's fault or the brand but I really feel that the product would look more seamless if the foundation was closer to my skin tone and a bit less orange. Because of the orange undertone, I am hesitant to give it the full 4 stars so I am going to go with 3/5.

Retails online for: $39.95

Foundation was given by FitAngie. Thank you so much for the care package!  ❤️️

ARIA KOREAN TAPAS MUKBANG & FOOD REVIEW & VLOG

Let's eat! Today we are having Korean Fried Chicken aka KFC, Tuna Kimbap and more from Aria Korean Tapas. Aria Korean Tapas has been making waves on Instagram, so I felt like I must try them out! I am so glad I did, this "Korean Snack Shop" has a modern feel but with traditional old school Korean appetizer like food.

Aria Korean Tapas is famous for their KFC, which stands for Korean Fried Chicken. They are boneless chicken in a light fluffy batter, fried to order. The great thing is, it comes with "sweet and sour radish" aka as radish kimchi for fried chicken ์น˜ํ‚จ ๋ฌด, ChiKin Mu. You get a choice between two types of sauce, "Sweet and Spicy" which is reminiscent of sweet gochujang, or their soy sauce based sauce (which tastes similar to the glaze on senbei rice crackers).

This is a mom and pop shop and they really make you feel like your part of the family or a really good friend of the joint. Exceptional customer service, tasty comfort "Seoul Food", and more. What more could you ask for?

Please support this amazing establishment located at:

Thai Iced Tea Recipe

4 Tablespoon Thai Tea Leaves (Buy here: http://amzn.to/2pS4Fps)

1 cup boiling water

Creamer and sugar to taste

Brew and steep thai tea leaves in boiling hot water. Be careful, do not brew in glass as it will shatter.

Let the thai iced tea cool down before straining tea leaves and transferring to cup.

Add Sugar and creamer to taste. For restaurant style taste, use condensed milk. I suggest starting with 1 teaspoon first before adjusting to taste. In this video, I used half and half and 2 teaspoons of maple syrup.

Serve Iced and enjoy!
